The Division of Interventional Radiology at UPMC/University of Pittsburgh is currently recruiting an academic interventional radiologist. The IR Division provides care at multiple core academic institutions including UPMC Presbyterian-Shadyside, UPMC Mercy, and Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in addition to providing support to other
UPMC hospitals in the greater Pittsburgh area.
UPMC IR perf01'ms a full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures and maintains active outpatient clinics at multiple sites with strong oncologic, hepatobiliary, transplant, trauma, vascular, and pediatric interventional radiology services. The IR Division has worked hard to build and maintain excellent clinical and academic relationships with Hepatology, Transplant Surgery, Liver Surgery, and Oncology in affiliation with the Hillman Cancer Center.
In addition to our robust clinical practice, UPMC IR has multiple ongoing translational research studies, both locally and in collaboration with other national academic institutions. Major research focuses include interventional oncology, organ transplantation, hepatobiliary disease, trauma, and portal hypertension.
The UPMC IR Division currently has 13 full-time IR physicians, 5 dedicated APPS, and 3 fellows as well as an active IR/DR dual certification residency program and partnership with the UPMC diagnostic radiology residency.
Expectations for this position will consist of a mix of clinical, teaching, and academic IR responsibilities within both the academic core and, less frequently, in one of our community hospitals. Applicants must be board-eligible or board-certified by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent and eligible for licensure in Pennsylvania.
