The Athletic Training Program, in the School of Rehabilitation and Medical Sciences, is recruiting for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track faculty member to join its faculty beginning August 24, 2020. This is a new position involving classroom instruction in athletic training; research; and service. The successful candidate must possess leadership and collaborative skills to assist with the administration and organization of a well-established CAATE-accredited athletic training program. Applicants for rank of Associate Professor must have held an Assistant Professor position and present evidence of teaching, service, and scholarly activity consistent with criteria established by the department for that rank. Responsibilities of Position:- Teach up to 9 credits each semester in a CAATE-accredited athletic training program. Potential to teach in the summer in the Entry-Level Masters Program.- Participate in scholarly and creative projects culminating in refereed publications, professional presentations, and external grant submissions. - Direct undergraduate and/or graduate research and scholarly activities.- Provide service to department, college, university, professional organizations and community. - Assist with development of innovative programs in the department and college including continuing education seminars/workshops. - Assist with on-going program development and maintenance of CAATE accreditation. - Participate in student recruitment, retention, and advising.
- PhD or EdD in Athletic Training or related field.- An established or directed research/scholarly agenda that is competitive for external funding. - 3 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.- 3 years of experience as a BOC Athletic Trainer.- Current BOC certification in good standing.- Current or eligible for Athletic Training licensure in Michigan.- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.- Demonstrated leadership skills.- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
