Position supports the Salk Animal Facility (SAF) or the Cancer Research Animal Facility (CRAF) Supervisor and the daily operation of the animal care program. Position is an extension of the ARD management team and supports departmental guidelines and policies as established for the technician team. Position acts as a mentor through guidance and support to technical team in areas of daily operation including but not limited to: animal husbandry procedures, animal care equipment, physical plant issues, soiled and clean cage operations, behavioral test areas, special study support, inter/intra-facility animal transfers and team and departmental meetings. Position ensures that animals are in compliance with National Institutes of Health ( NIH), National Researcher Council (NRC)
