Centre College seeks a Director of the Center for Global Citizenship, to begin July 1, 2020. As the College’s chief international officer, the Director oversees an exemplary program that places Centre in the top five institutions in the nation for study abroad. An average of 85% of students study abroad at least once in various long- and short-term experiences. Currently 10% of our students are international students. Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with administration, faculty and staff to develop long- and short-term global citizenship initiatives
Manage, plan and support study-abroad and study-away experiences
Develop and implement program evaluation and assessment
Integrate the global experiences of all students, faculty and staff into campus life
Develop sustainable institutional partnerships and develop collaborative international and domestic relationships
Collaborate on recruiting international students and develop a plan to increase the quality of life for international students
Advise students on study abroad and study away opportunities
Effectively supervise staff in the office for the Center for Global Citizenship and manage a budget of $1.5 million
Salary and Appointment Information
The Director of the Center for Global Citizenship reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. This is a 12-month, full-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Master’s degree or higher
Minimum of five years of relevant experience in international-education administration
Fluency with professional standards and best practices for international education
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working with faculty, staff students, parents and international partners
Strong record of conscientious budget management
Adept at supervising, mentoring and building the talents of staff members
Advanced intercultural awareness and competency
Proficiency in risk management and dealing with challenging and complex situations
Adept at promoting equity and inclusion in all aspects of diversity, including race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation and religion
