Partner with the HEOP and CSTEP Program Directors on the overall planning, management and evaluation of the Opportunity Programs' academic support services. Provide leadership in the development and implementation of HEOP and CSTEP project activities as they relate to academics and instructional services. Supervise instructional staff and ensure integrity and growth of the Academic Services Unit within the Opportunity Programs.
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree or terminal degree.
Required Experience: 5+ years experience directing academic program services and components of an Opportunity Program at the University level. Experience setting departmental goals, institutional policies and procedures, managing budgets and staff supervision.
Preferred Experience: Teaching experience with students in a college or university setting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent organizational, planning, negotiating, networking, and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels both verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise a diverse staff. Experience working in a college or university, particularly with students of economically disadvantaged background. Must be knowledgeable of instructional paradigms in higher education. Able to interface with department heads, chairs, and/or academic deans in the NYU schools.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Grant writing skills and experience managing a grant funded program. Advanced technical skills i.e. Microsoft excel.
