Department Description The Department of Internal Medicine is the largest department in the School of Medicine and on the UC Davis campus. The department has 11 divisions organized by sub-specialty with Administration managing finance and personnel functions. Oversees communication for the Department of Internal Medicine including written, visual, digital and electronic communications. Works with the Department CAO, Department Chair, Divisional Chiefs, HRBP, and other management staff to develop and execute organizational communication. Works to create content and communications internally and for the public. Required Qualifications
Bachelor degree in Journalism, English, Liberal Arts, Communications, or a closely related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication skills to present/verbalize communication strategies to clients
Experience in a communication/marketing role for a complex organization that involved gathering information, writing and/or producing materials, planning and executing communication strategies and presenting information to the public in advertising, print, electronic, web and interactive formats
Experience conceptualizing and developing communication and marketing strategies for audiences
Experience developing content in a variety of formats including multiple page publications, feature articles, web content, print advertisements, TV and/or radio
Experience developing and implementing strategies that support communication and marketing objectives
Project management, interpersonal and communication skills with experience working in a collaborative environment with other creative team members including other writers, designers and web specialistsDemonstrated commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity
Experience in higher education-related communications
Knowledge of video production
Lift and maneuver boxes of paper and files weighing up to 20 lbs using hand cart
Work flexible schedule including occasional events and weekends to meet operational needs Occasional travel to off-campus meetings and events
