This is a full-time, nine month, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics (within the College of Arts & Sciences). Duties include teaching 12 credits per semester, collaboration in mathematics and statistics curriculum development and research, scholarly publications, grants, campus-wide and departmental service, and academic advising. Anticipated appointment date: August 24, 2020.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum qualifications include: - Earned doctorate in mathematics, statistics or a closely related field, from an accredited institution. Graduate work must include a strong background in probability, combinatorics or statistics. ABD candidates considered, but doctorate must be completed by June 1, 2020. - Experience using software tools to support teaching mathematics or statistics. - Evidence of excellence in teaching college level mathematics or statistics courses. - Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional activity to keep current in the field of probability, combinatorics or statistics. - Potential for collaboration in research and curriculum development with faculty from within and outside the department. - Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations.
