The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky is seeking an experienced Research Assistant Senior to join the laboratory of Dr. Jessica Blackburn. The lab focuses on using zebrafish and mouse models to understand the mechanisms of drug resistance and relapse in pediatric cancer. We are looking for driven, motivated individuals that can demonstrate a genuine interest and contribute scientific knowledge and expertise to our lab group. The candidate will work independently with guidance and input from senior research staff and the Principal Investigator to carry out experiments associated with current research projects.
Additional work may include organization/upkeep of lab stocks, cloning and generation of common reagents, and care of the mouse colony. Previous experience in molecular biology and mouse work is required. Preference will be given to senior candidates that have held similar positions in the past.
