The position of Family Engagement Liaison is a full-time grant-funded position with the CFEC, a five-year federally funded grant project conducted through the South Carolina School Improvement Council (SC-SIC) in the College of Education at UofSC. CFEC promotes high-impact cradle-to-career family engagement in education by providing training and technical assistance to families, educators, and communities so that they can partner more effectively to support increased student achievement, school improvement, and increased awareness of high-quality educational options available to families. Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Family Engagement Liaison will be responsible for delivering high quality training and technical assistance in family engagement directly to districts, schools, families, and community members in their assigned region of South Carolina. The Family Engagement Liaison's work will be based out of his/her home. The Family Engagement Liaison will be required to travel extensively within his/her assigned region within South Carolina. The Family Engagement Liaison will also be required to travel to the CFEC office in Columbia periodically for professional development and meetings.
Please note: The Family Engagement Liaison will be assigned to cover one of the following six regions within South Carolina: (1) Upstate (McCormick, Greenwood, Laurens, Union, Cherokee, Spartanburg, Greenville, Pickens, Anderson, Oconee, and Abbeville counties); (2) Upper Central (York, Chester, Fairfield, Newberry, Lancaster, Kershaw, and Chesterfield counties); (3) Pee Dee (Marlboro, Dillon, Marion, Horry, Florence, Darlington, Lee, Clarendon, Williamsburg, and Georgetown counties); (4) Midlands (Lexington, Richland, Sumter, Calhoun, Orangeburg, and Bamberg counties); (5) Low Country (Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Colleton, Beaufort, and Jasper counties); and (6) Central Savannah River Area (Edgefield, Saluda, Aiken, Barnwell, Allendale, and Hampton counties). If selected for this position, you will be working out of your homes and travelling extensively within your assigned region(s). Most travel within the region will be same-day trips that do not require an overnight stay
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree or higher in education, social work, psychology, or a related field and at least three years of work experience in a related field.
