Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Student Disabilities Services Coordinator for the Academic and Student Affairs Department.
The Student Disabilities Services Coordinator provides service for students with disabilities who require accommodations for the eight schools of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences; informs students, faculty, and staff of available accommodation services.
Advises students of their rights and responsibilities; interprets federal policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Master's Degree in higher education, counseling, social work, rehabilitation counseling, or a related field plus a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*Knowledge and expertise in the field of disability services administration and an ability to analyze, monitor, and implement legislation, regulations and policies regarding federal and state laws pertaining to individuals with disabilities in higher education.
*Ability to handle confidential disability related documentation and records according to federal and state laws.
*Experience working with graduate, health sciences or other professional level students with various disabilities in a higher education disability services office, is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must have ability to travel between campuses to meet with students, faculty and staff.
