Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Coordinator, Multimedia Design for the School of Nursing.
Under the direction of the Director of Administration and Finance, the Coordinator of Multimedia Design has primary responsibility for design and production of FXB Center print and online resources used to educate healthcare providers, disseminate research and evaluation findings, and promote FXB Center programs and services. Key responsibilities include:
*Oversee all phases of production for FXB Center publications, resources and tools, both print and web-based. This includes planning, product creation and design, feedback integration and copy editing.
*Develop illustrations and photographic concepts for inclusion in products as needed.
*Collaborate with FXB Center program leaders and staff to identify their marketing and communication needs and proposes the appropriate solutions to meet these needs. Examples of such needs may include strategies for data visualization or transitioning of traditional curricula to web-based platforms. Implement the agreed upon solution.
*Manage marketing and communication-related vendor relationships. Obtain and evaluate proposals, bids and quotes. Monitor services and reviews proofs. Direct release of funds for payment for successful completion of vendor services.
*Take responsibility for visual aesthetics and graphic standards for all publications, promotional materials, educational materials, training media, etc. Oversee publications for adherence to established graphic conventions and standards. Ensure compliance with applicable Rutgers communications and marketing policies.
*Maintain inventory of software and supplies required to fulfill job requirements and makes recommendations for purchase of appropriate equipment and software.
*Identify opportunities for staff development related to design and product development, and offer training and technical assistance related to identified needs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, information technology, or related field with a minimum of five years of relevant experience. Applicants may substitute additional related experience for the educational requirements on a year-for-year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*Must have working knowledge of computer graphics and pre-print production.
*Must have a professional portfolio of published projects reflecting creativity in publication design.
*Production experience with the following software is required: Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
*Multimedia and website design management and experience with Mac and PC operating systems is required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to identify and distinguish color is a special vision requirement.
