Responsibilities:

The Facilities Coordinator provides support for the Department of Campus Life with a focus on the day-to-day functions of Campus Life Operations, the Campus Life Information Center and the Gameroom.

  • Coordinate the day-to-day functions of Campus Life Operations (Ops), the Campus Information Center (CIC), and the Gameroom (GR) units. 
  • Provide high quality customer service to the UMBC community and campus guests
  • Procure, install, and maintain audio-visual equipment and other building assets
  • Hire, train, supervise, and develop student staff
  • Coordinate emergency response efforts; respond to all incidents within the facilities
  • Manage small and mid-scale projects involving internal and external partners/resources
  • Act as liaison to building tenants, Campus Police, and Facilities Management
  • Prepare weekly project reports, including budgetary proposals/needs
  • Consult management on facility, services, and operational improvements/needs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree Required; Master's Degree Preferred
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • One year experience in a student union/ student activities office
  • Building management/ operations
  • Audio/visual and building maintenance
  • Staff Supervision
  • Manual labor using hand held and power tools
  • Ability to work at elevations on ladders and scissor lifts
  • Adaptable to flexible work schedule
  • Emergency preparedness 
  • Juggling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Detail oriented
  • Customer Service
  • Work well in high pressure situations
