Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology - 1904345
The Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology will work as a valuable, creative, and highly energetic team member in Radiation Oncology department, reporting to the Chair of the Radiation Oncology department. The Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, direct departmental clinical and non-clinical operations, financial management, and meeting budget expectations for assigned services, service management, and achieve individual, team, and operational performance goals. The Administrative Director will work in collaboration with the Cancer Center leadership team and Stony Brook Hospital leaders for business development and strategic planning.
It is expected that the Administrative Director's scope of responsibilities is comprehensive, working closely with Stony Brook Hospital and Cancer Center leadership and CPMP leadership to improve patient access, referring physician relationships, provider productivity and efficiencies and effectiveness of ambulatory services supporting the providers in the department. It is expected that this role will lead a culture of teamwork, positive communication and strong relationship building across the various departments and with referring physician practices.
Duties of the Administrative Director of Radiation Oncology may include but are not limited to the following:
Directs and manages, in conjunction with a clinical cancer services and CPMP, non-clinical staffing and support staff in collaboration with the leadership team
Manages and is responsible for budget, finance, and Human Resources management of the department
Manage and develop operations on patient registration and flow including templates, scheduling process, schedule management to meet the customer needs
Manage and oversee clinical revenue cycle including patient access, billing and coding, finance
Represent to coordinate, monitor, and modify (as required) radiation delivery services according to the standards and outcomes
Planning and management of radiation equipment and facilities and equipment, and to maintain efficient and productive use of space, facilities, and equipment
Participates as leadership team member, in achieving cancer program growth, quality and performance improvement processes
Participate in the planning and implementation of the new faculty on boarding in clinical service, and manage the workflow of the physician practice
Participate in the planning and implementation of the new facility for radiation practice, and travel to off-campus facility as needed
Other duties as assigned
Five (5) or more years of experience of progressive leadership experience.
Experience in group practice management in an academic or comparable setting involving delivery of medical/pt care services.
Experience with strategic planning, marketing, network development skills, quality management and process improvement experience and expertise.
Experience with cancer program or research information systems content / knowledge expertise.
Strong analytical and financial management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Master's degree in Healthcare Management or related field
Outpatient group practice management experience in a comparable academic radiation program.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Strong decision-making problem-solving skills
Professional development and counseling skills.
E xcellent team building and physician relationship building.
Strong Emotional intelligence and critical thinking
Strong financial management and quantitative skills, including strong computer analytical skills in spreadsheets and data management.
