10-week Summer Internship
LOCATIONThe student will work in the Davidson County Extension Office, Nashville, TN at the University ofTennessee. Prior to starting the internship, interns will participate in aday-long orientation to familiarize them with Tennessee Extension Programs inANR.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
A stipend in theamount of $6,840.00 for the 10-week internship is provided for each intern. Aswith any position, it is expected that an intern is able to get to and fromwork each day. Generally, interns ride with Extension agents during significantwork-related travel and therefore do not receive a travel budget allotment.
*Internwill work in a joint appointment with the UT Extension Davidson County Officeand the Tennessee Governor's Residence
*Approximatetime / work load will be 50% UT Extension and 50% Tennessee Governor'sResidence
*Planning,coordination, and implementing summer programs at UT Extension in STEM,gardening, healthy living, and/or outdoor classroom activities
*Primaryaudience will be summer enrichment programs through Metro Nashville PublicSchools, after school / summer school programs and youth camping programs
*TennesseeGovernor's Residence program will focus on horticulture education, First Lady'sGarden education, and general knowledge and tasks of maintenance of a largescale landscape and certified arboretum
*Plan,implement, and report on a special horticulture / arboretum project at theTennessee Governor's Residence
*Assistwith educating and leading group activities for youth at UT Extension events,summer camps, and Tennessee Governor's Residence field trips
*Evaluate,summarize, and report all program results
*Workwith Tennessee Governor's Residence Executive Residence Horticulturist, whowill provide supervision at the Tennessee Governor's Residence
*Workwith UT Extension Agent, Michael Barry, who will be the direct supervisor forthe internship
