This position is responsible for providing a safe and attractive physical campus environment for the University community that is conducive to learning, living and working; by providing supervision, planning, coordination and direction to the Facilities Management department. Maintains a standard of excellence for both work processes and outcomes with a strong emphasis on customer service. 5 years of facilities management experience OR equivalent combination of experience/education/training which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience supervising staff performing maintenance (mechanical, electrical, boiler, carpentry, flooring etc.) trades and labor or closely related fields
Knowledge of construction and/or facilities maintenance principles
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Valid Washington State driver’s license
Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences.
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Experience in Business Administration
Experience planning and scheduling multiple crews over a large area of responsibilities
Experience with managing data from facilities work order system such as AiM
Experience with managing an operating budget
Experience or interest in mentoring students from a variety of backgrounds
Ability to incorporate multicultural perspectives and issues into everyday conversations
