Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach a variety of developmental and undergraduate mathematics courses, including dual credit enrollment, online courses, and courses on the main campus in Cape Girardeau (15 credit hours per semester)
  • Participate in professional development activities that support teaching effectiveness
  • Participate in service activities to support the department and the University
  • Serve on departmental, college, and university committees

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate level mathematics included in the master’s degree program. The master’s degree must be granted before August 1, 2020. (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/government certified university.)
  • Demonstrated record of effective teaching of college and/or high school students
  • Demonstrated record of technology use in teaching
  • Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with multicultural populations and awareness of issues affecting women and minorities

As a public regional university (with a graduate mission), Southeast seeks candidates with a commitment to excellent undergraduate (and graduate) education and student success within the framework of the teacher-scholar model.  Applications of instructional technology and pedagogical research are supported through the Center for Scholarship in Teaching and Learning and the Office of Online Learning.  Successful candidates will contribute to the development of innovative curricula and delivery strategies, including traditional, blended and online formats, and participate in initiatives promoting student recruitment and success, retention and degree completion.
