The Department of Social Work and Sociology at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track position of Professor/Associate Professor in Social Work beginning August 2020. The position involves teaching across the graduate social work programs, including supervision of dissertations, and participation on dissertation committees.

North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and University of North Carolina Greensboro's BSW programs have had a unified field placement/seminar program in place for 45 years.The two universities also have had a joint MSW (JMSW) program for 21 years and in Fall 2019 they launched a joint Social Work PhD Program (JPhD) with its first cohort of students. Candidates are required to have an MSW degree from an accredited social work program and a doctoral degree in social work or closely related discipline. The candidate must have a scholarly record of demonstrated expertise and leadership in one of social work's fields of practice through winning research grants, writing in scholarly journals, serving on grant review panels, and serving on academic and community governance boards. Candidates must have demonstrated ability to conduct impactful scholarly research, and have publications in peer-reviewed journals and work in wider circulated professional and public venues. Candidates should have an active and well-articulated research agenda coupled with demonstrated ability to continue to secure external grant funding.
Teaching experience at the doctoral level and service on dissertation committees with candidates successfully completing their doctoral degrees are preferred. A minimum of two (2) years post-master's professional practice experience, and clinical, managerial licensure, and/or certifications are preferred. Demonstrated community engaged scholarship is preferred.
