Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow for the Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology at the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary research interest in the laboratory is to understand the molecular and cellular mechanisms of synaptic plasticity and neurodegeneration, with a particular focus on the roles of cell polarity.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Prepares experimental data for publication and grant applications.
Maintains accurate records of laboratory notebooks and research activity. Reviews literature and prepares manuscripts and abstracts for submission.
Presents findings at national meetings.
Mentors graduate/undergraduate students.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PhD in Neuroscience or related disciplines with a strong publication record and strong commitment to neuroscience research.
Self-motivated candidates with prior experience in mouse models, primary neuronal cultures, and confocal and/or two-photon imaging.
Additional expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and virus production/intracranial injections.
