The George Mason University Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center on the Science and Technology (formerly the Prince William) campus is seeking part-time Kid Kare Attendants. Flexibility desired for day, night and weekends, however, availability Monday – Friday from 8:30am-2:00pm is required.
Kid Kare Attendants are responsible for supervising and caring for children in the Kid Kare Center. Duties include ensuring supplies are ready for scheduled activities; and arranging and taking part in indoor and outdoor play while ensuring the environment is safe, clean, organized and well-maintained.
The successful candidate will:
Demonstrate a positive and productive attitude;
Be sensitive to the varying capabilities, interests and needs of the children;
Be mature (persons 17 years of age or older will be given a strong preference);
Have prior experience working with groups of children;
Will have or be willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) certifications (pediatric and adult) within 30 days of hire; and
Have a current (or be able to obtain) tuberculosis skin test.
This position is subject to a criminal background investigation. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of this process.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
