Experience in maintenance and repair of of material handling systems, conveyors, pneumatic/vacuum systems. Experience in maintenance and repair of piping systems, threaded, flanged, and welded.
The Facilities, Planning & Management department at Iowa State University is currently seeking candidates for a Utility Plant Maintenance Mechanic I. Under general supervision, this position troubleshoots, repairs and maintains utility plant boilers, mechanical systems and equipment such as coal and gas/oil fired water tube boilers, steam turbines, pumps, valves, and air compressors. This position also assists with maintenance of pollution control equipment, piping systems, and various material handling systems. Responsible for preventative maintenance, including equipment rounds, checking and changing oil, and operational inspections. The successful candidate will work well in a team environment, communicate effectively, and make safety a priority.
Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday- Friday
