Program Coordinator - Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success 13333
The Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS) at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Program Coordinator. This position will oversee and direct all recruitment activities for CLASS, while serving as the strategic advisor for recruitment for the Executive Director and Director of Advising and Recruitment within CLASS. The Program Coordinator will serve as CLASS representative for external audiences. The Program Coordinator will also lead and develop transfer student initiatives and on-boarding, while serving as the primary point of contact for transfer students admitted to CLASS.
In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:
* Coordinate and manage recruitment initiatives on- and off-campus, including calling campaigns, electronic outreach efforts (mainly e-mail), and in-person events/visits * Develop content and represent CLASS at recruitment events (including WVU open houses, Junior Preview Days, and New Student Orientation, if applicable); other events may arise on an as needed basis, including but not limited to WVACRAO fairs * Represent CLASS as the point of contact for regional recruiters and admissions counselors; respond to inquiries from prospective students and families; conduct Visitor Center appointments for prospective CLASS students; handle complex inquiries related to academic programs at the university * Develop, maintain, and manage communications plan for CLASS, while collaborating with University Relations and the Office of Admissions * Research best practices from peer-institutions for recruiting and converting exploratory populations and implement changes to increase overall CLASS enrollment * Utilize Target X to pull data regarding prospects, inquiries, admits, and transfer students; develop/manage specific communications to these groups * Represent CLASS on committees and taskforces focused on undergraduate recruitment and outreach initiatives * Adhere to WVU's brand in the creation of web-based and printed materials * Develop and produce web-based and printed materials to be used for recruitment and advertisement * Serve as a licensed account holder for Target X Customer Relations Management System (CRM) and maintain Target X license for recruitment purposes; attend regular Target X training, as needed * Assist and support all recruitment efforts for programs within the Office of Student Success, in particular First-Year Pathways, FirstGen, and RISE (under-represented student populations) programs * Provide comprehensive intake advising appointments and guide transfer students through the evaluation process of transfer credit * Serve as the CLASS point of contact for transfer advising, transfer credit, and transient credit * Host informational webinars/sessions for incoming transfer students to explain the process of evaluating coursework through TERR/TESS * Oversee processes for readmitted, second degree, and non-degree students; effectively communicate rules governing degree completion for these student populations
* Master's Degree required and relevant experience in recruitment and/or communications. Bachelor's degree with direct work experience may be used as a substitute. * At least 1-year recruitment experience * At least 6-months Content Development (i.e. flyers, website, etc.) * At least 6-months Advising at the college level * Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills in order to effectively recruit and assist students * Ability to acquire knowledge of employer expectations and their relationship to strategic curricular decisions * Ability to acquire knowledge of all CLASS program information, as well as general major (admission and curricular) information for all programs at WVU * Ability to learn and work with Banner, DegreeWorks, Navigate, Target X, and other software systems * Demonstrated ability to pay attention to detail * Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed * Ability to assess and enhance the effectiveness of advising and recruiting * Ability to represent CLASS in a professional manner * Ability to work with a team and independently to meet deadlines
