The Department of Laboratory Medicine serves as a regional resource for clinical laboratory services required for patient care, research and educational programs in laboratory medicine. Laboratory Medicine has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time, day shift, RESEARCH STUDY COORDINATOR 2. This position will support the Genetics and Solid Tumors division.
Provide professional-level support for Brotman Baty Precision Medicine Institute Funded genetics research studies involving human subjects
Develop procedures for monitoring online survey data collection and follow-up engagement
Organize and track recruiting efforts; answer participant questions
Develop and implement participant engagement plan
Maintain study database and website; organize mechanisms to follow up with participants
Develop procedures to track samples; develop sample quality control program
Provide referral services to help study participants connect with local healthcare providers, when indicated
Perform initial analysis of research study results using statistical and database management software
Develop, implement, and maintain survey tracking system
Prepare reports, tables, and figures for publication
Write, review, and ensure compliance with human subjects applications and applicable regulations
Perform related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Coordinator OR Equivalent education/experience.
Experience organizing semi-structured interviews and/or focus groups
Experience with qualitative and quantitative survey data
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
It will be necessary to work in other departmental locations in order to meet patient service requirements, especially at Harborview Medical Center. In addition, less frequent work effort will be required at other UW School of Medicine locations (e.g., South Lake Union) and Seattle-area healthcare institutions
Will be considered essential staff and as such will be required to report to work when scheduled despite inclement weather
