The Benefits Analyst is responsible for the daily administration of the University's leave programs including FMLA, Short-Term Disability, and Paid Parental Leave for staff, as well as Long-Term Disability for all employees. As part of the administration of the leaves programs, the position duties include the coordination and processing of actions as they relate to the leave process; serving as a resource for employees, department administrators, supervisors, vendors and other contacts associated with the University's leave administration; training administrators on the medical leave process; ensuring compliance of the FMLA law; preparing reports; resolving problems; inputting data and updating employee records in the University's HRIS system, along with all non-routine benefit-related election refunds or collections. Additionally, the Benefits Analyst is responsible for policy recommendations. This position is also responsible for the oversight of the University's life insurance and long term care insurance plans with duties involving the reconciliation of claims and the review and processing of invoices. Other responsibilities include the completion of all benefit related survey requests, facilitation of FMLA information sessions and new employee benefit orientations, and other general benefit related projects as required.
