COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST , MIT Medical , to manage and implement marketing and communication efforts promoting MIT Medical and its services. Will write, edit, produce, and format a variety of original content (e.g., MIT Health Plan marketing material, website content, health promotion materials, reports, patient letters, etc.) for internal and external audiences; manage Ask Lucy, an online advice column; serve as editorial manager for department's intranet; provide project management to help develop marketing and communication tactics and events; and ghostwrite for members of the medical staff.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : B.A./B.S., preferably in English, communication, journalism, marketing, or related field; five years' communications/related experience; experience with and broad knowledge of health, internal corporate, and/or marketing or related communications; strong strategic thinking, marketing, project management, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills; excellent copyediting skills across a wide variety of media and styles and for a diverse audience; meticulous attention to detail; experience collaborating with vendors; good judgment with sensitive/confidential information; track record of producing quality material, on time, in a deadline-driven environment; proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; and experience with content management systems. Must be able to collaborate on strategic goals; write, edit, and design original digital and print marketing materials; implement marketing and communication projects/activities; mentor, coach, and guide the work of others; communicate across all staff levels; and work with clients, designers, and consultants. PREFERRED : Drupal expertise; expertise with statistics, survey methodology, and principles of experimental design; knowledge of market research techniques; ability to review and analyze data and metrics to ascertain the effectiveness of programs and campaigns; and facility with desktop publishing and design software.
