COMPUTER SUPPORT ASSISTANT , Mechanical Engineering , to provide technical instruction and assistance in support of PC and Mac desktop software and hardware. Will diagnoses computer hardware problems and work with the vendor on repairs; install, update, and resolve issues with application software and operating systems; administer and maintain printers; act as point of contact for the operation and maintenance of videoconferencing equipment; resolve network issues related to the wall jack; implement security protection via updates, virus protections, and setting firewall rules; determine, with assistance from manager, specific vendors for computer-related purchases; create and update documentation and guidelines for various systems; participate in special projects such as infrastructure improvements; and perform related duties as needed.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : high school diploma or its equivalent; at least five years' computer user support experience; strong working knowledge of Windows (7-10) and Mac OSX (10.10-10.15) and some experience with various Linux distros; advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience supporting various email clients like Apple Mail and Outlook using Exchange via IMAP or Exchange; very strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team, communicate technical information and issues effectively to others, prioritize, problem-solve, and follow directions and seek help if needed. Must be able to lift weights of at least 40 pounds. PREFERRED : FileMaker Pro or database knowledge, and a bachelor's degree in a relevant field. May work occasional evenings and/or weekends.
