School of Nursing Waco-based instructor
9-month, non-tenure track appointment
Primarily responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution; Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as teaching and work requirements indicate.
Responsibilities: 100% Teaching: Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect the current levels of knowledge in the discipline; Exhibit willingness to work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify professional development activities which will lead to effective student learning outcomes. Primary responsibility in the School of Nursing will be effective teaching in the classroom, skills lab, simulation, and clinical areas for undergraduate and graduate students; Design and /or implement course(s)/clinical(s) consistent with the programs curriculum; Create a positive, effective, learning environment for students in all areas; Collect and use evaluation data to improve teaching and learning; Function as an effective, cohesive team member; Be present on campus and available for student access and inquiry. Â
Participation of departmental and School of Nursing functions related to the academics and curriculum of the School of Nursing is a part of the teaching responsibility.
Education and Experience:
Master of Science degree in Nursing from a school approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Teachers of record must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards which normally include a Masterâ™s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or suitable approved justification.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Must be knowledgeable in the discipline.
-Demonstrate the potential for effective instruction as evaluated by their peers, department head, and college dean.Â Â
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Eligibility for current R.N. licensure in Texas.
