The Brown University Division of Advancement seeks qualified applicants for the position of Foundation Relations Associate.
This individual provides administrative support to the Director of Foundation Relations, as well as writing, editing, prospect research, and financial and data administrative support (in the Phenix and COEUS systems) for the entire Foundation Relations team. The positionâ™s overall purpose is to provide support for research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation prospects in support of Foundation Relations fundraising goals.
Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree and four years of relevant experience (non-profit administration, development, sales, customer relations, university support), or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Experience in a higher education or non-profit setting highly desirable. Experience with database systems, financial reporting and/or writing/editing/proofreading skills highly desirable. Â Â
Excellent analytical, data management and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and solve problems independently
Advanced knowledge and ability to use Windows environment, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience using a relational database and facility in advanced spreadsheet functions like pivot tables, macros, etc. is preferred.
Demonstrable writing/editing/proofreading skills, with an interest in and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively about research and learning in a higher education and/or healthcare setting.
