The Department of Physical Therapy seeks a faculty member with experience in clinical education and didactic teaching for a split Regional Clinical Coordinator (RCC) and Assistant Professor position. This faculty position has administrative and academic responsibilities consistent with the mission and philosophy of the academic program. As a member of the clinical education team, the primary responsibilities of the RCC are to coordinate, facilitate, and monitor the learning experiences of students participating in clinical experiences. The team includes the Director of Clinical Education, three additional RCCs, and a support staff member. This RCC position will primarily service the central to upper portion of the Lower Peninsula of Michigan requiring significant travel to visit students and clinical faculty at affiliating agencies. Specific RCC responsibilities include: facilitating quality learning experiences for students within the assigned region; mentoring clinical instructors; providing guidance and support to individual students and clinical instructors as needed; serving as a research adviser for completion of case report requirements; and organizing and facilitating meetings for assigned students during the clinical experiences. In addition to the role as RCC, this faculty member will hold didactic teaching responsibilities within the Department of Physical Therapy. The didactic teaching responsibilities would include both classroom and laboratory instruction with an emphasis in area of expertise.
* Licensed or eligible for physical therapy licensure in Michigan*Entry-level PT degree and a post-professional doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent), or a post-professional doctorate in the final stages (ABD)*Minimum of 5 years' experience as a licensed physical therapist*Minimum of 5 years' experience of clinical teaching, clinical coordination, and/or supervisory experience*Adheres to professional, ethical, and legal guidelines of practice *Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills*Current knowledge and skill in use of information and computer technology and/or ability to update these skills*Ability to work independently, travel and coordinate work with colleagues, peers, and students*Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
