Department Description The Department of Anesthesiology is responsible for providing anesthesia and analgesia services in the Hospital and Clinics. Service areas include, but are not limited to: Emer Dept., Same Day Surgery Center, Main Operating Room, Post Anesth. Care Unit (PACU), Ob/Gyn, GI Lab, Pain Center, MRI, Burn Unit, and all ICUs. Provides anesthesia for all patients to include the more complicated/difficult patients of all ages. Required Qualifications
Current licenses as Registered Nurse in California.
Current certification by AANA as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and proof of application (receipt or cancelled check) for certification as Certified Nurse Anesthetist by the California Board of Registered Nurse (with pocket NA license to be provided to the Department within 120 days of application.
Knowledge of general nursing theories and practices.
Knowledge of and strong skills and abilities in airway management and the use of anesthetic agents, ancillary drugs, techniques and their safe administration.
Knowledge of and ability to provide invasive monitoring techniques and interpretation
This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
