Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Business Liaison for the RUCARES program. The Business Liaison will assist the RUCARES Director in managing various aspects of RUCARES administration activities.
*Manages the administrative, business and financial responsibilities for RUCARES and CSH-RUCARES and maintains accurate records of current and follow-up activities/procedures for RUCARES/CSH-RUCARES.
*Maintains accurate financial records and monitors departmental and grant expenses, manages payroll ensuring correct salary distribution and other payroll issues, purchasing, and processes Human Resources forms.
*Works with the CSH Financial Office to create monthly reconciliation reports related to the contractual CSH/RUCARES agreements, tracking and monitoring related revenues and expenses.
*Utilizes Rutgers Systems applications as necessary to process the payment of office bills, purchase requisitions, check requests, travel reimbursement, etc.
*Analyzes financial data and prepare financial reports for internal and external purposes. Responsible for managing and maintaining various account types including grant accounts.
*Monitors, verifies and reconciles expenditures of various funds, prepares financial statements reflecting status of programs and activities Ensures compliance with University and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
*Responsible for all business and administrative functions related to grants management including pre-award budget development and submissions via the RAPSS system. Post-award activities include: coordination of award set-up, re-budget requests, projections, budget reconciliation, effort reporting, submission of payroll changes for faculty, staff and students, no cost extension and carry forward requests, closeouts, other sponsor initiated requests/responses and ensuring compliance with Federal and University cost principles.
*Works with Principal Investigator(s) to ensure expenditure compliance with grants and other contractual agreements; ensures all reports are submitted to granting agencies on time.
*Monitors area facilities conditions and handles facility related requests with appropriate vendors or landlord/sub-leasee, as needed, to fix facilities issues in the sub-leased space. Coordinates set up of furniture, data, phone lines, &/or renovations. Assists in the development & communication of department safety plans. Issues work order requests for maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
*Coordinates and serves as a liaison with Children's Specialized Hospital for RUCARES, as needed.
*Oversees the department calendar, including scheduling meetings for the Principal Investigator and Project Manager, as needed. Coordinates reservation of facilities, travel arrangements, agendas and the overall set up of conferences, seminars and workshops, as needed.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Financial Management, Management, Planning or other related field is required, plus at least four (4) years of related experience in a hospital, university or governmental setting. Additional project management or related experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
*Project management experience is required. *Strong organizational, analytical and writing skills are required. *Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access.) *Familiarity working with clinical billing codes to help understand and track billing and collection financial data from CSH.
A Master's degree is preferred.
Prior experience with Oracle and Cornerstone Applications is preferred.
