Previous applicants need not re-apply to be considered.Under direction of the Associate Director, incumbent serves as lead undergraduate counselor assisting ICS students in their academic progress, and advising prospective students about university requirements, majors, and minors in the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS), UC Irvine. Supervises, trains, evaluates, and supports four ICS undergraduate academic advisors, and develops and manages undergraduate academic advising functions to achieve unit objectives and goals. The lead counselor participates in ICS and University student programs; develops, manages, and conducts campus and online advising sessions for new and prospective students. Develops and manages in person and online advising and student tracking tools; manages student traffic. Executes administrative duties related to undergraduate academic advising including: degree checks, degree certification, change of major application, prerequisites, enrollment exceptions, recruitment and outreach, and transcript evaluation. Authority to approve routine requests, and makes recommendations for exceptions. Consults with the Director and Associate Director in the development of the undergraduate team objectives and makes recommendations for change that affect policies and procedures.
