Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine Office of Medical Education Research and Development (OMERAD) seeks a tenure stream, academic year (9-month) assistant professor with expertise in advancing the understanding and practice of teaching and learning and leadership development. Primary responsibilities include curriculum development, professional development, leadership development, program evaluation, and engaging in scholarly activity. The position begins August 16, 2020.
Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in the Education field, required by the time of appointment
Evidence of accomplishment in research, teaching, service and/or program development related to the practice of teaching and teacher/student learning
Experience in curriculum development, leading professional development and leadership development qualitative methodology
Demonstration of scholarship in medical education
Specialization in the study of preparing learners for professional practice, including scaffolding novice learning, unpacking teaching expertise and effective pedagogy in teaching, learning and leading
Experience with quantitative methods necessary for program evaluation
Administrative experience (e.g., K-12 principal or commensurate)
