University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is currently seeking a Senior Manager of Mechanical Trades to join Office of Facilities Maintenance - Mechanical Support.

Develops, implements, and coordinates maintenance, repair and systems reliability programs for HVAC and plumbing systems, the management of assigned staff, and coordination of efforts with other divisions, University departments, vendors and outside agencies.
Evaluates equipment condition and life expectancy and arranges the replacement or repair through deferred maintenance or facilities renewal.
Performs administrative duties including staff supervision, performance evaluation, budgetary tracking, report formulation, and quality assurance.
Reviews service contract billing and approves for payment.
Reviews all chemical treatment reports and makes recommendations for improvements.
Works with procurement to procure service contracts including writing new scopes of work.
Assists with the research and development of utilities management and conservation projects.
Reviews, plans and provides mechanical inspections on O&M mechanical work.
Coordinates outages of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and related equipment.
Ensures that department meets safety guidelines and completes safety trainings.
Ensures that all work completed in the department meets all applicable codes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical field. Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the mechanical trades field. Supervisory Experience: Two (2) years at a supervisory level. Certification/Licensure: Valid Maryland State driver's license. Mechanical trades license, such as HVAC or plumbing, required, Master's trades license preferred. Other: Related experience may be substituted for education.
