Job Description Summary
Reporting directly to the Director of the newly-formed Penn Center for Genome Integrity (PCGI), the Administrative Director will provide all administrative oversight for operations of the PCGI. This includes the formation and maintenance of a Center website, multi-PI grant applications, meeting and seminar organization, annual retreat and symposia coordination, etc.
The Administrative Director for the newly-formed Penn Center for Genome Integrity (PCGI) will provide the administrative oversight of operations for the PCGI. This includes the assembly of multi-PI grant applications, coordination of meetings and seminar series, an annual retreat and symposium, travel arrangement for Center members, etc. Additionally, the Administrative Director will build and maintain the Center website, in MODX CMS, by gathering and writing all site content, and managing social media accounts to highlight faculty and trainee accomplishments. The Administrative Director must manage confidential and sensitive proprietary information with discretion, and upon expected growth of the center, will be responsible for supervising future administrative support staff. This position requires excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills with a philosophy of teamwork and hands-on implementation. The person selected for this person must have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines and possess an expert-level of computer proficiency.
BA/BS required and at least 5-7 years of experience in high-level administrative support or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Expertise in writing, web content management systems, social media, and graphic arts is desired. This person must be able to work independently, yet also with others as a team, in a highly collegiate and professional manner.
