The Department of Anesthesiology in the University of Minnesota Medical School is seeking an accomplished basic scientist faculty member specializing in the field of pain to join a large, collaborative multidisciplinary community of researchers focused on pain and analgesia research.  The ideal candidate is someone experienced in using state-of-the-art approaches and whose work complements and expands on the science already being performed in multiple specialties.

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent degree.  Academic rank and appointment type will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments.  Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong record of research productivity.  Evidence of an established research program with external funding is preferred.  The position provides opportunities for collaboration with investigators in the University of Minnesota Medical School and the basic science departments.  Candidates will have the opportunity to mentor and teach PhD, MD/PhD and medical students.
