Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Work Assistant for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School.
This position can serve as an ideal step before transition either to independent research in an academic setting or a career in the biotech industry.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts cell culture, confocal imaging, data analysis, and mathematical modeling.
In the first aim, we propose to obtain different parameters of immunological synapse. Corresponding artificial intelligence (AI)-based analysis software for in vitro synapse quality analysis and mathematical modeling will be developed during the first month. A manuscript about these results will be submitted.
In the second aim, we will qualify various immunological parameters on CAR-modified cells or NK cells. A new software package about in vitro synapse quality research will be generated in a standardized manner, thereby making it possible for the field of immunology.
Corresponding mathematical modeling will be provided to explain the behavior of CAR signaling in the immunological synapse.
Records and analyzes data from experiments.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Candidate must be in years 1-5 of training in the physical/mathematical/computational sciences.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Candidate must be familiar with programming language such as Python with image data analysis.
Ideal candidate must have extensive experience performing experimental research relevant to the field of immunology.
Ability to work in a team environment and work independently is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert force up to ten (10) pounds.
