Vet Care Tech – Tier II- Rehab: Work involves assisting a veterinarian in technical procedures and activities involving animal care, specifically in the area of Physical Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine. The successful candidate will assist team clinicians and care-giving colleagues with the reception, treatment, and monitoring of all patients within the Physical Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine unit.
Additionally, the successful candidates will oversee and instruct professional veterinary students in preparation of animals and equipment for medical procedures and delivery of care. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: organizes, directs, and provides helpful and collegial assistance to professional students, clinicians, residents, and technical students during receiving appointment hours; coordinates with reception; performs client communication including follow up calls, prescription refills, reporting lab results, appointment scheduling; examining, restraining, and treating of patients; assists with assessment and delivery of therapeutic treatments for patients including, operating the underwater treadmill, laser, E-Stim, manual therapy; admitting drop offs, writing discharge summaries, discharging patients and answering general questions; coordinates patient drop offs and all rehab appointments; assists with acupuncture appointments; assists with coordination and evaluation of students that rotate through the service; enters charges for all procedures and tests performed on patients; sets up appropriate equipment and instruments for each case; cleans and disinfects equipment and related areas; and other duties as assigned.
The successful candidates will be expected to work 40 hours a week on first shift between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm; schedule will be determined by Rehabilitation Service. Successful candidate must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Ohio with a preferred CCRP/CCRT certification or have completed didactic training for certification. Final candidate must complete a background check.

Degree from an accredited veterinary technology program; or an associate degree or bachelor's degree; completed and successfully passed VTNE prior to hire date; State of Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician at the time of hire.
Combination of RVT and Veterinary Assistant or clinical veterinary hospital support; previous experience as a Veterinary Care Technician – Tier 1; previous experience working in the designated specialty; previous experience as a licensed, registered veterinary technician and/or Veterinary Assistant.
