Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree). In lieu of Bachelor's degree, Associate's degree (foreign equivalent or higher degree) plus two (2) years of research experience. Experience with laboratory techniques and handling animal and human samples. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Photoshop.
Two or more years of experience working in a basic science lab. Familiarity with IRB. Experience with regulatory processes. Budgeting experience. Experience overseeing lab personnel.
Brief Description of Duties:
Perform laboratory experiments utilizing standard techniques (cell culture, immuno-histochemistry, microscopy, western blot analysis, immunoprecipitation) and use of basic lab equipment (incubators, tissue culture hood, freezers, centrifuges, and power sources).
Process, organize and summarize data, reporting experiment results using a variety of scientific, word processing, spreadsheet or statistical software applications or program platforms.
Routine logging and testing of samples.
Assist in the design of laboratory experiments, techniques, and protocols.
May instruct other staff and students in basic laboratory techniques.
Perform related laboratory maintenance such as maintaining and cleaning equipment and ordering supplies.
May process orders or invoices, or undertake other clerical and simple accounting duties under the direction of administrative personnel.
Other duties as assigned.
