This position provides writing and editing for university feature stories and press releases for the UTC website and public distribution. Facilitates relationships with departments in all of the colleges to assist in the creation of messages to publicize their work, promote events and recruit students. Serves as a resource and support to UTC offices and departments in creation of online and print material. Facilitates refresh of university website, assisting in strategy and organization of content for utc.edu pages. Writes and edits to comply with UTC editorial style in web copy, press releases and UTC publications. Supervises student worker(s).
Researching, writing and editing materials for publications including web features, web content, press releases, alumni magazines, e-newsletters, posters, brochures, flyers and other communication or marketing materials as needed for our office and other offices and departments throughout campus.
Assisting with strategic planning of communications and marketing campaigns.
Creating and maintaining a public facing, online calendar of events. This includes publicizing theater, music, art, speakers and other events taking place on campus or sponsored by campus entities.
Collaborating with web team to facilitate refresh of university website.
Meeting with all UTC departments to reorganize individual websites and edit content following communications and marketing best practices.
Supervising student assistant(s) and providing customer service by meeting with university organizations to lead website editing and development, with tasks including reorganization of website structures, writing/editing of copy, development of web content (written and visual), etc.
