The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Administrative Assistant to assist in the day-to-day operations of the Department of Diagnostic Sciences including the Emergency Clinic, Radiology, and Oral Pathology.
The incumbent of the role will:
Coordinate special projects
Provide computer support
Serve as point of contact for IT and other support areas, maintain the department website
Coordinate faculty recruitment
Assist in the management of the department's residency program
Monitor financial accounts
Advise faculty and staff on University policy and procedures
Perform departmental purchasing, direct procurement and maintenance requests for department equipment and provide administrative support to faculty and staff.
The incumbent will also support Oral Pathology participants in the faculty practice's biopsy service. Duties will include accessioning incoming biopsies, preparing fee slips, communicating with clinical offices for additional information, sending out reports, maintaining logs, filing paperwork and slides, and preparing and mailing biopsy kits.
This position requires strong management and organization skills, proficiency in computers & software, excellent communication skills as well as the ability to make independent decisions and maintain confidentiality. The position will be shared with another part-time administrator.
The hiring range is for full-time positions and will be prorated based on 60% effort.
