Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the research areas of the department.� Coordinates technology infrastructure and interfaces with Information Technology organizations.� Builds and maintains working relationships with lab members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects.� Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.� Technology skills are required and include Windows and MacOS.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Aligned with Research Division Chief and Business Director to define the scope, business objectives and required results of projects within the research areas.
Lab support of computers and attached peripherals. Validate software installs and insure compliance with University standards.
Works with WUIT to prioritize and enable staff productivity and yield.
Maintains inventory of lab equipment for technology refresh and budgeting purposes.
Align our research function such that we can take advantage of available tools such as the Research Infrastructure Systems (RIS) under WUIT.
Evaluates risk and investment in lab hardware.
Evaluates lab technology and makes recommendations to management for computer and peripheral upgrades. The goal is to have a stable technology base and spread costs across budget cycles.
Graduation from a college or university plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field; additional project management experience in the field of work may be substituted for the required education.
Experience in healthcare and research support.
Strong analytical and technology skills, including ability to escalate problems and coordinate solutions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, management, faculty, and subject matter experts.
Customer Service:� Must possess an aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness and empathy.� Must be enthusiastic and committed to helping others.
Project Management:�� Ability to lead a project team and collaborate with others to achieve timely completion of assigned tasks.
Planning and Organization:� Ability to organize and follow complex and/or detailed technical instructions and department procedures. Must be able to apply and follow protocols in order to complete assignments within departmental parameters. Must utilize WUIT effectively and coordinate activity when escalated.
Technical Knowledge:� Ability to apply broad technical knowledge in the research unit with both computers and common peripheral devices.
The hiring range for this position is $64,854 - $84,365 annually.
