First point of contact for the Scholarships Office. Responding to or referring all phone and in-person inquiries at the front counter. Ability to understand a student's needs when they are unable to articulate it fully; ability to set a positive tone for student and staff/faculty interaction in person, on the phone and via email.
Scholarship front counter coverage; understand and explain scholarship eligibility to potential students and families in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Answers multiple phone lines; escalate calls as appropriate; provides information regarding campus resources. Responsible for communication flow: communicates to students the status of outside scholarship check processing, new freshmen/transfer recruitment scholarships, scholarship resources available on/off campus, etc. Assists with entering general, departmental, and private scholarships awards onto MyMav. Manages work, schedule, hiring and supervision of work-study employees for front desk. Oversees records management: process which consists of scanning and linking 10,000+ required scholarship documents; quality assurance review of an average of 40,000+ documents for Fall and 30,000+ documents for Spring; oversees collection and records retention schedule of scholarship documents. Administers Mary I. Gourley Scholarship Program for the Scholarships Office: verifies eligibility, provides authorization to collect payment and maintains record(s) of transactions. Performs other duties assigned.
High school diploma. Two (2) years of administrative experience and/or customer service experience. Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
Experience with PeopleSoft. Knowledge of document imaging systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
