The development specialist provides overall administrative support to the assistant vice president for development while acting as liaison between the assistant vice president and the major gifts team as well as their strategic partners comprising Rice’s individual giving effort. The specialist will plan and execute large meetings of the major gifts team, streamline the onboarding of new major gifts staff members, as well as oversee the preparation, distribution, and completion of major gifts team documents, reports, and presentations. The specialist will be responsible for acting as backup support to the office of the associate vice president for development and will facilitate special projects, as needed, related to the work done by regional, school, and parent major gift officers.
