Posting Summary: The Office of Safety and Security is seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant to join their team. The Senior Administrative Assistant provides clerical and administrative support for key administrators within the Department of Safety and Security (DSS), including the Associate Vice President for Safety and Security, Assistant Vice President for Clery Compliance, Business and Finance Operations Manager, and the Director of Threat Assessment. The Senior Administrative Assistant is a key member of the DSS leadership team. The position works under the guidance of supervisors, but also must possess demonstrated capacity to work independently and to make decisions based on standard operating procedures and policies. The Senior Administrative Assistant has latitude to set procedures to accomplish work tasks, establish office procedures, and ensure implementation. They may also lead, train, and/or serve as a coordinator to other administrative support staff throughout DSS. They may also supervise students and other support staff.
A high school diploma and at least four years of relevant experience is required. A Bachelor's degree and administrative experience in a higher education environment is preferred.
Candidates must possess the ability to evaluate and apply information and provide advice, strong working knowledge of administrative procedures, and the ability analyze and present information. Candidates are also required to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in daily interactions, maintain the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and provide direct support to leaders.
