A Postdoctoral Research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrey Ryabinin, Department of Behavioral Neuroscience at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU).
Research in this lab focuses on neurocircuitry and social aspects of alcohol abuse and drug addiction. A combination of behavioral and molecular techniques is applied to animal models of these disorders. In particular, this lab uses prairie vole and mouse models of addiction, pain and social bonding.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
Planning and designing research experiments: establishing priorities and recommending schedules, time tables and costs
Data collection, processing and analysis, including statistical analyses
Presentation of project results, and producing written reports on the result of analyses
Train and supervise staff, graduate assistants, and student employees
Compensation for this position will be determined by the NIH guidelines .
PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology or related field
Working knowledge of behavioral experiments with rodents, sterile neurosurgery, microscopy, immunohistochemistry or in situ hybridization
Working knowledge of brightfield and fluorescent microscopy, pharmacology, and intracranial surgery
Expertise in olfactory neuroscience
Expertise in organic chemistry of small molecules
