This is a posting for an Actor Technician (4936) in Theatre Arts and Dance hired to work in the Scene Shop. This position will not have set hours and will be considered "supplemental", "hourly" employees.
Hourly Salary Range: $15.29 - $21.52
Employees hired into this position will perform any or all of these duties: Utilize construction skills to bring a variety of theatrical projects to completion.
Theatre Stage Scenery Carpenter:
Some college training or one year relevant stage carpentry experience.
Understanding and ability to use and safe of operation of hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
Ability to repeatedly lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
Ability to crawl and be on hands and knees for extended periods of time.
Ability to read drafting and shop drawings.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as necessary.
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to drive the department truck.
More than one year professional stage scenery carpentry experience.
Experience with MIG welding/metal working.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to problem solve and adapt to changing directions.
