Summary: Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in Grand Rapids, Michigan is currently accepting applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant/Associate/or Full Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders to support the existing undergraduate and the newly approved Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) program. Individuals who are interested and meet the required qualifications may be considered for the position of Program Director. Required Qualifications and Education:
Doctoral degree (Ph.D., Au.D. or equivalent) in audiology or related discipline
Five or more years of experience in higher education to be considered for program director
Demonstrated leadership experience to be considered for program director
Area of expertise that complements current faculty
Evidence of effective teaching
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications and Education:
Preference for those with expertise in electrophysiology and/or amplification
Preference for applicants with demonstrated record and/or potential for active scholarship
ASHA certification preferred
Responsibilities – Essential Functions:
Teaching in the Doctor of Audiology program and undergraduate pre-professional academic program.
Tenure-track faculty members participate in scholarly activity, advise/mentor students, and provide service to the university, community, and the profession.
If qualified for program director, responsibilities include all aspects of leading a doctoral-level program.
