The Office of Human Resources (OHR) provides HR services for all faculty, staff and students across The Ohio State University. This assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support for the Associate Vice President (AVP), Shared Services, Senior Director of Benefits, and Senior Director of Compensation. Support includes, but is not limited to, maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings, as well as ensuring all relevant information is ready and available for meetings attended by the AVP and Senior Directors. The person in this role will collect and summarize data, and develop/refine PowerPoint presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and reports. In addition, the person will make administrative decisions and judgments within their realm of responsibility and authority, using tact and discretion. Among other responsibilities, the person in this role will provide programmatic support for OHR projects and programs, and will assist program leaders by scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and preparing materials. As part of the team of administrative professionals in OHR, this position will be responsible for day to day building coordination. This will include entry of maintenance requests, and office communication, This role requires the incumbent to attend to a broad range of activities at once, so incredible organizational skills and attention to detail are a must. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent follow-through, the ability to anticipate needs, have a proactive nature, a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality, and the ability to readily adapt to different priorities and people.
Six months of experience (600 hours of course work or training) in customer service or communications, including researching, analyzing and interpreting information; three months of experience (300 hours of course work) in budgeting.
Demonstrated experience supporting a leader; at least five years of progressively responsible administrative experience; high degree of organizational skill; extensive Microsoft Office skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Target Salary: $20.79 - $23.77 Hourly
