The Manager of Special Projects for Health Sciences will assist the Health Sciences Corporate and Foundation Relations team in strategic planning to engage select corporate and foundation donors.
One of the key responsibilities will involve developing concept papers and other documents to frame internal discussions on prospect engagement and to introduce new prospects to the university's programs, administrative leaders, and faculty. The position will be expected to assist the CFR team broadly in writing and submitting select corporate and foundation grant proposals and some stewardship reports.
Additionally, the incumbent will maintain calendars of funding opportunities for strategic priorities, such as neuroscience/Alzheimer's Disease, addiction, mental health, cancer, prestigious career opportunities, and other areas.
Minimum knowledge/education required is a bachelor's degree, preferably in communications or writing. Background in science and/or experience in an academic medical setting and in a CFR office is a plus. Five to seven years experience in a complex fundraising environment, preferably at a university or college. Demonstrable success and effectiveness as an analyzer, strategist, and collaborator. Experience/knowledge of working with underserved/diverse communities is a plus.
