The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary Medicine is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator. The Emphysema COPD Research Center (ECRC) is a specialty center whose mission is to advance the understanding of emphysema and tobacco-related lung disease and to evaluate new therapies for patients with emphysema. The ECRC has had National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for over 20 years, has been involved in cutting-edge clinical trials that have included both new pharmaceuticals and devices and has published over 200 manuscripts.
This position will be responsible for the following:
- Coordinating and scheduling multi-departmental procedures
- Compiling preliminary testing results and medical history to provide to necessary personnel for use in evaluation
- Coordinating post-procedure care and documenting adverse events
- Following up with subject through entire study
- Organizing any additional physician referrals/follow up outside of protocol - Corresponding with subject's personal physicians regarding results and outcomes measured during study visits allowing for collaboration between study team and subject's personal physician to effectively treat the subject - Assisting in the triage of study related health issues
During procedures, the incumbent will also be responsible for documenting procedures, overseeing investigational product administration, and recording patient medications and vital signs.
